And, coincidental as it is, the POWER used in the “wooing” of money is not greatly different from that used in wooing a maiden. That power, when successfully used in the pursuit of money must be mixed with FAITH. It must be mixed with DESIRE. It must be mixed with PERSISTENCE. It must be applied through a plan, and that plan must beset into ACTION.”
I thought that one paragraph summed it up. If everyone inside of a Mastermind, gets that paragraph…Look out!! That Mastermind will drive everyone in it to success.
Everything I have ever done started with Desire. Desire coupled with Faith is downright dangerous!
I remember going into a stained glass shop years ago and Falling in Love with some fairys in a pattern book. They were absolutely exquisite! The designs were by an artist in Australia and I immediately DESIRED to make one!
Unfortunately, I had no idea how to make stained glass.
So I asked the Lady behind the counter if they gave classes there and she said yes they did. I told her I wanted to make “this” fairy, that I had chosen from the pattern book. She burst into laughter and was quite tickled with herself as she told me, “Ha Ha do stained glass for 10 years and then we will talk about making “that” fairy Ha Ha Ha”
I thought….hmmmm. It can’t be THAT hard. I had FAITH that I could do it. I immediately took ACTION and signed up for a class. It was a good class. An introduction that explained all the tools I would need and went through the process of how you make stained glass. She had pieces in various degrees of completion and gave a quick demo for each step. It was a four week course and by the time you were done, you would have created your first stained glass piece.
The pattern the instructor had chosen was basically a quartered square. Straight cuts, very geometrical…and simple. BORING. I wanted to make that fairy! As I watched the store owner go through the simple instructions of how to make stained glass, I devised a plan and at the end of the first class I purchased all the equipment I needed to go home and start making fairys. That was my last class.
Learning how to cut glass without breaking it and cutting your fingers off does have a learning curve but fortunately for me, I learn fast so it wasn’t tooooo painful. The fairy patterns that I had chosen were truly magnificent pieces of art. Very delicate with wrists and ankles that were less than an eighth of an inch wide. Beautifully curved wings and flowing hair…these were not straight cuts.
Because I had never done stained glass before I didn’t realize that cuts like this were waaaay more difficult to do and it probably should have taken 10 years but I didn’t know it was that difficult…to me it was just following the simple steps that the instructor had given in class.
Sure, I broke some glass. Cuts? Just part of it. But, I PERSISTED because I had the DESIRE and the FAITH to keep taking ACTION. I knew I could do it.
I still have her today 🙂 Along with lots of others that joined her as sisters. I have been doing glass art for about 16 years now. I make fairy’s, horses, sunflowers, skydivers, kachinas…whatever people want me to draw up 🙂
With all that being said…There is no substitute for a Mastermind and a Team. Although I was successful going the Lone Wolf route with my glass, in MLM or any type of Network Marketing business you CANNOT do it alone. This is why most people fail because they think they can do it on their own. It’s true, you do have to do the work. A Mastermind/Team is not a free ticket to the top. It offers the support, guidance, wisdom and illuminated pathway but it is your choice to walk that path. The greatest Mastermind in the world will not help you if you do not participate…but if you do…it’s a driving force that is unstoppable.
I am so Thankful that Michael Dlouhy went the Lone Wolf route and developed Mentoring for Free. It has an exquisite pattern. You don’t have to make MLM any harder than it is. Don’t go for the 10 year failing forward plan. You just have to have the Desire…follow the simple steps…have Faith that it works (if you don’t have it at first, that’s ok…you will have an entire Mastermind having Faith in you and driving you until you do) and be Persistent with your daily Actions. You have never experienced “Team” until you see how this group works together. The Lone Wolf might survive for a while…but the Pack will thrive and create a future for the species.
You can create anything you want! Just because every one out there is making boxes doesn’t mean you have to… Sprout your wings and Fly 🙂 Katherine
